About Us
NHS Hero Support – A Lifeline to the frontline – is a volunteer citizens’ organisation delivering PPE to the frontline, founded at the end of March 2020, by professionals with backgrounds in healthcare, procurement, international trade, communications, business, tech, event production, and fundraising.
Working directly with doctors, doctors groups, and hospitals, the team is repurposing their skills, contacts and resources, to deliver high-grade PPE (both crowd funded and donated), to frontline health staff in hospitals and the wider care sector.
NHS Hero Support is a founder member of the Shield* consortium, and is
supporting national resilience through innovative supply chains and collaborations, to
provide equipment such as visors, gowns and other devices needed during the
coronavirus health crisis.
* Shield (Sustainable Hubs for Emergent Local Development) is an umbrella organisation
bringing together industry leaders with the aim of expediting solutions to the health crisis.
